Whangarei Boys Golf Academy
Our top golfers Craig Hockings,Mac Johnston,Connor Dickey and our WBHS coach Joey Kwon represented Mitre 10 in the NZ Certified Builders Charity Golf Tournament. The boys won the trophy for the top team,Craig Hockings with the best gross and Mac Johnston 2nd best nett.
Whangarei Boys’ High School runs a development golf programme in conjunction with professional coaches from the Northland Golf Club. The Golf Programme provides students with the most comprehensive golf coaching and development programme in Northland.
The Programme:
- Course management skills
- Knowledge of equipment
- Game preparation skills
- Life skills
- Short game skills
- Self-discipline and control
- Provide basic full swing motion and sequence drills
- Understanding of short game needs
Coaching is supported by the latest technology and a new on-site facility which ensures students get the most possible from each session.
Coaching includes:
- Video swing analysis
- The SAM Puttlab
- Balance lab
- Flightscope ball flight monitor
Included in the programme:
- Membership to a local Golf Club
- NZPGA Approved golf handicap
- Unlimited use of the outside academy area
- 4 x 1 hour Personal development sessions on Flightscope
- 4 x 1 hour Coaching sessions with professional coach
