Meet Student Ambassador - Cream
We talked to 2021 student ambassador Cream who is studying at Whangarei Girls’ High School. She is from Thailand and is living in Northland with her family.
Although I am a domestic student I would still choose Northland because there are more opportunities for you to do things such as Jet skiing, surfing etc. There are a lot of beaches around Whangarei which you can hang out with your friends in your free time. People are very lovely up here.
My favourite experience in Northland so far was the Hokianga trip that I did recently with WGHS international department and Haunui college and WBHS. It was very fun as I got to meet new friends and share our experiences about our schools. We went camping at Rawene holidays park for 2 days 1 night and it was absolutely incredible. We also visited the footprints of Kupe and the day after that we went Jet skiing and sand boarding which was so much fun.
Whangarei Girls’ High school is a small school in Whangarei. Teachers, staffs and Students here are very friendly and very helpful. We are like a big family where everyone helps each other when they can. We get more school holidays here in New Zealand compared to Thailand where I come from. The education system is more relaxed compared to Thailand’s education system. WGHS gives a lot of opportunities to the students.
I like to go out for a walk with my dogs and ride a bike to get some fresh air. My hobbies are swimming, studying, reading and watching YouTube. But sometimes if I feel like doing nothing I will just go to sleep.
