Anika's Visit to Happy Bee Keeping in Kerikeri

A few weeks ago, we sent Anika from Kerikeri High School, one of our 2020 student ambassadors to the Happy Beekeeeping Honey Shop to find out about (and of course sample) some of their unique manuka honey products.

“I recently visited The Honey Shop in Kerikeri which is now owned by Isaac and his partner. He showed me around his shop and told me about a few products. He gave me two of their products; Manuka Honey & Organic Blackcurrant and Manuka Honey & Real Ginger to take home.

Isaac is a really enthusiastic, innovative and tries different flavour combinations. He produces seven tons of raw honey each year which they make into all sorts of products even a skincare range.

Anyway back to the two products I took home to try. The Manuka Honey and Organic Blackcurrant looks like red honey it tastes delicious and is creamy. You can eat it on toast, in smoothies or on pancakes. It is also a healthy alternative to jams and other sugary spreads.

The Manuka Honey and Real Ginger is like honey with a zing. My mum really likes it. It is delicious over yoghurt or as a sweetener in tea. We will definitely be trying more of their products.”
